How to cancel Max (HBO Max)
Max (formerly HBO Max) renews monthly or annually. Where you cancel depends on who bills you — Max directly, Apple, Google, Amazon, or your TV provider.

Check who bills you
Look at your bank statement. If the charge comes from Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, or a cable company, you must cancel with them, not with Max.

Sign in at max.com
For direct billing, sign in at max.com on a browser.

Open your profile → Subscription
Click your profile icon, then choose 'Subscription' to see your plan and renewal date.

Click 'Cancel Your Subscription'
Follow the prompts and confirm. Max may offer a discounted rate to stay — decline if you want to cancel.

Confirm by email
You receive a confirmation email. Your access continues until the end of the billing period.
Good to know
- No partial refunds — access runs until the end of the paid period.
- If Max came free with a phone or cable plan, cancelling the carrier plan ends Max too.
- Annual plans: cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the current year.
