How to cancel ChatGPT Plus
ChatGPT Plus renews monthly at $20. Cancelling takes under a minute, but the steps differ depending on where you subscribed — web, App Store, or Google Play.

Open ChatGPT and sign in
Go to chatgpt.com and sign in to the account that holds the paid subscription.

Open Settings
Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner and choose 'Settings'.

Go to Subscription
In the Settings panel, select 'Subscription'. You will see your current plan and renewal date.

Click 'Manage' then 'Cancel subscription'
This opens the billing portal. Choose 'Cancel subscription' and confirm. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.

Subscribed via iPhone or Android?
If you upgraded inside the mobile app, cancel through Apple ID → Subscriptions (iOS) or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions (Android) instead.

- Cancelling does not delete your account or chat history — you keep the free tier.
- Access to Plus features continues until the end of the current billing cycle.
- OpenAI does not refund partial months, so cancel before the renewal date.
